Grace
Grace got up ready and put on her face, went to the kitchen to clean up the place. As she threw away juice-boxes left on the floor she wondered why she doesn't smile any more. 8 o'clock came and the kids toddled in, her old man sat down, still stinking of gin. Then she asked him a question she knew that he heard, but he didn't look up, or utter a word
She asked: “Who did I use to be? And who am I now if you can't even see me? I'm Grace, I'm Grace. I used to be someone you couldn't ignore Grace was my name, I guess Grace isn't here anymore.”
Days turned to weeks, and the weeks into years. Babies to kids, and the milk into beer. And she watched it all pass as her dreams slipped away, they've taken her name, running away
She thought: “Who did I use to be? And who am I now if you can't even see me? Find more lyrics at ※ Mojim.com I'm Grace, I'm Grace. I used to be someone you couldn't ignore Grace was my name, I guess Grace isn't here anymore.
I used to sing, and play my guitar, with everyone shouting my name through the bar. I was beautiful then, and maybe I'm still But if I don't find out now, I never will.”
Grace lay awake, in her four-poster bed Dreaming of lives that she could have led But he told her: 'without him, she'd never get far' So she wrote him a note and jumped in the car
It read: “Maybe I'll never be free, but why should I stay when you can't even see me? I'm Grace, I'm Grace. I used to be someone you couldn't ignore Grace was my name, and now Grace isn't here any more.”
